2.     Eggs are shipped from a poultry farm in trucks. The eggs are packed in cartons of one dozen eggs each; cartons are placed in crates that hold 20 cartons each. The crates are stacked in the trucks, 5 crates across, 25 crates deep and 25 crates high. How many eggs are in 5 truckloads?

 

3.     At one time Rigel IV, a class M planet. had a system of weights and measures called the Bozo system. This system was created and used by the Bozonians, who lived on a continent in the Northern hemisphere, and had all of the deficiencies of the current English system on earth. The relationships between the various units used for length in the Bozo system are given below:

How much would the person spend?

 

7.     RachelÕs dog is a bit out of control.  She loves to eat tissues.  If you leave her in a room with a tissue box, she will climb to where it is, take it down, and eat the tissues one by one.  If it takes her 17 seconds to eat one tissue, and there are 150 tissues in one box, how many minutes does Rachel have to realize what sheÕs doing before sheÕs eaten the whole box?

 

8.      Sometimes Marin Academy teachers have been known to assign a bit of homework (just a bit).  If each student takes on average 6.5 classes, and each class assigns on average 45 minutes worth of homework, how many hours of homework is assigned in a school year (averaging 207 academic days) for the entire MA student body (approximately 400. students)?
